Livres Canada Books welcomes a new team member
We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Nouhed Chabani who joins the Livres Canada Books team as Programs Assistant, replacing Priya Ramjuttun who is on maternity leave for one year. Having worked at the Embassy of Canada in Algeria, and others, Nouhed brings a wealth of experience to Livres Canada Books. She will assist Christy Doucet, Programs Manager, in the coordination of programs and the Canada Stand.
On your behalf, and on behalf of the Association, we wish Nouhed great success at Livres Canada Books.
Maternity Leave
Tricia McCraney, Coordinator, Communications and marketing, will be on maternity leave beginning April 11, 2011. Livres Canada Books will begin a recruitment process soon and will announce the name of the Coordinator, Communications and Marketing, who will join our team in the March newsletter.

The next meeting of the Livres Canada Books Board of Directors will be held on March 15, 2011 in Toronto beginning at 9:00am.
New office hours
Livres Canada Books began new working hours on January 31, 2011. Our offices are open from 8:15am until 4:30pm (EST) from Monday to Friday.

Spring 2011 edition of Rights Canada is complete
The catalogue will be distributed electronically to more than 12,000 international publishers, buyers and rights professionals and will also be promoted on the Canada Stand at the Bologna Children's Book Fair and the London Book Fair. Participating publishers will receive a copy of the catalogue shortly. 2011-2012 FRMAP and Mentoring-Funding Support - application deadline April 1
As you know, guidelines and forms for the programs offered by the LCB under FRMAP and Mentoring - Funding Support programs for 2011-2012 are available online. Applicants are advised to print out the PDF form once it has been completed; unless your company has the appropriate software, the PDF files cannot be saved once the forms have been completed. Guidelines and application forms can be downloaded from our website.

LCB end of financial year 2010-2011
March 31, 2011 is fast approaching and publishers eligible under FRMAP 2010-2011 need to send to the LCB by April 18, 2011, their FRMAP claims for fairs, salons and export sales trips taking place up to the last day of March. This time of year is crucial for the LCB to disburse contribution payments as soon as possible after the end of the financial year. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Mentoring- Funding Support 2010-2011 - Final Reports - Guidelines and forms online soon
2010-2011 program recipients will soon receive by mail instructions for preparing final reports to be submitted under the Mentoring - Funding Support program for 2010-2011. Guidelines and forms will also be available on the LCB website.
The deadline to submit a final report to the LCB is Friday, May 6, 2011.

Annick Press has licensed the Macedonian language rights for K.V. Johansen's novel Torrie and the Pirate-Queen to Vermilion Books in Skopje, which launched the Macedonian translation of Johansen's Torrie and the Snake-Prince in the spring of 2010 during Johansen's reading tour of Austria and Macedonia.
